Radiographic Imaging Modalities and Applications

General Course Summary: The presentation will cover the principal diagnostic imaging techniques which are most commonly utilized in the head and neck region. The imaging modalities to be covered include the following:

1. Traditional intraoral periapical radiographs
2. Panorex and lateral cephalometric x-rays
3. Mandible series, Water's view
4. Bone scans
5. CT scans
6. MRI scans
7. 3D CT scans
8. Cone beam 3D CT scans

Each study has specific clinical indications and limitations. These will be covered along with the anatomy that can be visualized with each study.
